Hi there! It’s almost Valentine’s Day and one thing I kept seeing was those AMAZING Valentine’s Day Charcuterie Boards. All of the candies, fruits and even breakfast! It made me hungry! Lol. So, I decided to make one for myself! Now, I have to say that this was my first ever charcuterie board so it’s pretty simple but SO CUTE.
There’s nothing wrong with simplicity, especially for us newbies when it comes to making these. Since it is Valentine’s related, I wanted to make some heart-shaped cupcakes and have little candies and snacks on the side. So, I’m going to take you through the process and let’s make a board together!
Decide What Foods You Want
Like I said, my charcuterie board was Valentine’s related so I knew I wanted to have sweets. But you can literally put anything you want on these boards. It can be holiday themed, a celebration, game day snacks, breakfast. Whatever you want! But the first step is deciding what kind of foods you actually want on it.
Make Your Main Dish
Your main dish can be many things: cupcakes, donuts, wings, waffles, pancakes, etc. But you want to make your main dish first because it’s going to take the longest. Since I was making cupcakes, my daughter and I had some mommy/daughter time as we put our cake mixture together. You can make your dishes from scratch but my kids love Funfetti so that’s what I went with.
Prepare Your Side Dishes
This step is also fairly simple. Depending on what your main dish is, you want to have sides right? For waffles, you can have fruits, yogurt and pretzels. If you’re making wings, you can have chips, crackers, cheeses and dips as the sides. If you’re making sweets, its totally up to you! I’m not too big on sweets in my household so for our side dishes, I did trail mix and a few candies.
Now, I know you’re probably thinking…”I thought this was supposed to be a Valentine’s Day charcuterie board?” It is! It doesn’t have to just be about sweets. Valentine’s Day is about showing the people in your life that you care for them. For some, that could mean making a grand breakfast or lunch and a charcuterie board is perfect for that!
So, when you’re planning your Valentine’s Day Charcuterie board, think about different foods and dishes your friends and family likes! Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!
